LAS
Helmets
|
This is what victory feels like—light, ethereal, perfect. Let the
Victory from LAS lead your way to the podium.
LAS creates helmets that provide some of the highest levels of
protection available, while looking better than 90% of the other
helmets out there. The LAS Victory is one of the most comfortable
lids we've ever worn. Starting with it's weight—or lack thereof—at
251 grams (small/medium) you'll be holding your head high all day
long. Helping to keep you comfortable is the lightweight Silver Dry
one- piece padded liner. The Silver Dry liner wicks sweat at an
incredible rate while staying magically dry. Woven into the cushy,
padded liner are mesh bug guards to keep airborne debris from
lodging itself in between your helmet and your head.
Another touch we appreciate on the LAS VIctory is the wide-mount
retention straps, which are anchored into the bottom edge of the
helmet, rather than inside the helmet. This creates a more
comfortable angle and keeps the straps off your skin a bit more,
plus it's easier to take the helmet off and on. Finally, the Cateyes
rolling retention system is unbeatable in our opinion. A wide range
of vertical adjustment lets you find the perfect spot on your head
for the Victory, and a simple, one-handed dial snugs or loosens the
horizontal fit quickly and securely.
When you're ready to ride at the front of the pack, ride with the
LAS Victory helmet leading the way.

LAS 2010 Squalo Helmet
PRICE: $199.99
Just like it's namesake, this helmet is ready to devour anything in
it's path. 14 of the 29 vents face straight forward to scoop up air
and move it across your head to the rear exhaust ports. The Squalo's
comfortable, slightly ovalized shell fits well, and the
full-coverage Silver Dry wicking foam liner makes it feel like a
fitted cap.
Silver Dry technology impregnates the liner with silver particles,
which fight bacteria and resist odor, while the knit of the liners
surface speeds absorption of sweat so it moves off your head and
evaporates quickly. There's also a swappable, denser, brushed fabric
winter liner, which retains more heat and blocks more of the wind
coming through the vents.
While the fit and comfort are awesome out of the box, what really
impresses us is the LAS Cateyes Adjustment System. This is a
retainer basket that's adjustable both vertically, and in
circumference. You're obviously used to adjusting the circumference
of the retainer, every helmet has a method for that, and the Squalo
uses a large, easy to turn dial to quickly and securely adjust the
tightness of the helmet. The genius of the Cateyes System is that
the retainer basket is easily moved up or down also. Many people
have a protruding occiput on the back of their head, and by moving
the basket up or down can easily avoid putting pressure on it while
still maintaining a secure fit and fine-tuning the stance of the
helmet.
